Year in Review
2025 was a year of remarkable achievement
for Colorado Enterprise Fund as we continued
to support and empower Colorado's
underserved entrepreneurs.
We’re proud to share that we closed 185 loans
totaling $18,085,922, another record
breaking year for CEF.—another
This growth
recordreflects
the resilience of Colorado's small businesses
community and its trust in CEF as a lending
partner committed to its success.
A highlight of 2025 was our expanded
commitment to SBA 7(a) Small Loans. We
originated a record 46 loans totaling
$7,829,700, providing entrepreneurs with
the larger capital they need for sustainable,
long-term growth. This dedication earned
us recognition as the 2025 SBA Colorado
7(a) Small Lender of the Year —an honor
that validates strategic focus on meeting the
evolving needs of Colorado's—an
business
honor that
owners. The demand for growth capital was
evident as our average loan size increased to
$97,762.
Throughout the year, we maintained our
unwavering commitment to serving
businesses that face the greatest barriers to
accessing capital. We directed special
attention to SBA 7(a) Small Loans,
commercial real estate financing, childcare
providers, and rural businesses—sectors
where traditional financing remains
challenging. By focusing our resources where
they're needed most, we're creating
meaningful impact in communities across
Colorado.
Our New Markets Tax Credit program
continued to drive transformative change,
helping finance four major projects with tax
credits worth $54 million, including Prime
Health, Rio Grande Wellness, Food Bank of
the Rockies, and a full-service grocery store
in a food desert. These investments
strengthen community infrastructure and
create opportunities for economic
development.
Operationally, we've grown to a team of 41
dedicated employees, began our AI journey,
and launched an updated website to better
serve our borrowers and partners.
Looking Ahead
As we enter 2026, we recognize the
economic headwinds facing small
businesses. Our response is to double down
on support through our no-cost Business
Navigation services, providing coaching and
education to help existing customers
navigate challenges and position themselves
for growth.
September 2026 marks a special milestone
for CEF: our 50th anniversary! For five
decades, CEF has been empowering
entrepreneurs, building communities,
fueling growth, and creating jobs across
Colorado. As we celebrate this legacy, we
remain energized for the work ahead.
